About the Role

The IIBA Georgia Chapter is seeking an organized, proactive, and people-focused Volunteer Lead to build and coordinate our volunteer community.

The Volunteer Lead will oversee volunteer recruitment, onboarding, engagement, communication, task allocation, and recognition. This person will help ensure that volunteers have clear responsibilities, feel supported, and contribute meaningfully to the Chapter’s events, programs, and strategic initiatives.

This is an excellent opportunity to develop leadership and community-management experience while contributing to the growth of the Business Analysis profession in Georgia.

Key Responsibilities

  • Recruit and onboard active volunteers through professional networks, universities, community outreach, and chapter communication channels.

  • Define and document volunteer roles, responsibilities, expectations, and team structure.

  • Develop and manage a standardized onboarding process, including introductory sessions, guidance materials, and access to relevant communication channels.

  • Match volunteers with suitable tasks based on their interests, skills, experience, and availability.

  • Coordinate volunteer support for Chapter events, mentoring programs, webinars, workshops, membership activities, marketing campaigns, and other initiatives.

  • Organize and facilitate monthly volunteer meetings to maintain alignment, engagement, and collaboration.

  • Maintain an up-to-date volunteer database, including roles, availability, assignments, and participation.

  • Monitor volunteer engagement, follow up on assigned activities, and help resolve challenges.

  • Create and maintain a centralized volunteer communication channel.

  • Develop a volunteer recognition program, including certificates, acknowledgements, recommendations, and other forms of appreciation.

  • Gather volunteer feedback and identify opportunities to improve the volunteer experience.

  • Provide regular progress updates to the President and Board.

  • Promote a collaborative, inclusive, respectful, and supportive volunteer culture.

  • Follow the IIBA Georgia Chapter’s bylaws, policies, standards, and strategic priorities.

Success Measures

The Volunteer Lead will initially be expected to:

  • Recruit and onboard at least 5–10 active volunteers.

  • Establish clearly documented volunteer roles and responsibilities.

  • Implement a consistent volunteer onboarding process.

  • Create and maintain a centralized volunteer communication channel.

  • Hold monthly volunteer coordination meetings.

  • Provide volunteer support for Chapter events and initiatives.

  • Introduce a structured volunteer recognition program.

  • Maintain accurate volunteer, assignment, and participation records.

Required Skills and Qualities

Preferred Experience

Previous experience in one or more of the following areas would be an advantage:

  • Volunteer or community management.

  • Team leadership or people coordination.

  • Recruitment and onboarding.

  • Event or project coordination.

  • Human resources or learning and development.

  • Nonprofit, professional association, or student organization activities.

  • Business Analysis or a related professional field.

Formal management experience is not required. We welcome applicants who demonstrate initiative, responsibility, and a genuine interest in building an engaged professional community.

  • Zoom for online meetings.

  • Mailchimp for member communications.

  • WhatsApp or another shared communication platform for coordination.
